The Veterans IT Development program brings qualified veterans on as full-time associates starting them in a one-year program.  Your career journey starts with learning and perfecting your skills as an IT Analyst.  Those in this role define and shape the business and systems capabilities GEICO depends on to be competitive in the insurance industry.  This one-year program focuses on gaining the skills, knowledge and experience needed to be a successful entry level IT Analyst.   The program combines classroom and real-work experience so new skills can be applied immediately. Participants will be assigned mentors and receive supplemental training depending on their project assignments. Program participants will work in one of the many areas of GEICO’s IT department including Information Services, Systems Operations and Internet Business divisions.  GEICO offers promotional and lateral job role opportunities that will allow you to go where your interests take you.  This entry level position does not require previous IT experience. 
 
GEICO is looking for veterans with strong analytic, problem-solving and communication skills and a desire to meet the challenges of entering the IT career field. The program is based at GEICO’s Contact Center in Virginia Beach and will report to our Corporate Office. A college degree is not required; however, GEICO encourages and supports those pursuing their degree.

• Business and Systems Analysis
• Requirements Elicitation and Collaboration
• Planning and Negotiation
• Insurance Operations and Practices
• Programming and Systems Development Concepts
• User Experience and User Interaction (UX/UI) Principles
 
We are seeking qualified candidates for our March 2020 class.

 

Candidate Qualifications:
• Veteran of The Armed Services of The United States to include - Army, Navy, United States Marine Corp, Air Force and United States Coast Guard 

•  Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills – there will be an assessment for you to complete to demonstrate analytical and deductive reasoning skillset
