The chief responsibility of a sales commission job includes promoting and selling products and services in order to grow sales and profitability. A sales person also develops strategies to create their own walk in business and close as many sales as possible. Other duties include complying with all internal policies and procedures of the company, providing effective customer service and developing advanced product knowledge. A sales representative also builds quality customer relationships and maintains up-to-date client information in order to drive sales.
Previous selling experience is desired but not required. A successful sales commission specialist is self motivated and outgoing and should have effective communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
